ABOUT

With support from family and friends, Alan Young established The Margo Young Foundation in memory of his mother who sadly lost her life to breast cancer on 13th February 1992.

The aim of The Margo Young Foundation is to optimise access to respite and bereavement support for terminally ill patients and their families.

The support services that the charity offers are provided indirectly via collaborations with established organisations.

COLLABORATORS

The Margo Young Foundation is currently collaborating with Marie Curie Hospice (Glasgow) and Strathcarron Hospice, Denny to support children and young people facing loss or bereavement and those already experiencing loss or bereavement.

In response to the ever changing NHS landscape the efforts of The Margo Young Foundation have extended beyond those directly/indirectly affected by a malignant illness to those directly/indirectly affected by a range of life terminal illnesses.

MYBAND

Our intention has been to create a resource to support communication for a child or young person who are facing or experiencing bereavement.

The MY Band is the realisation of that vision.  With the introduction of the MY Band we offer a resource which a child or a young person can use to help express their feelings with family, friends, carers, school teachers, counsellors without having to say anything.

To request MY Band(s) please email myfoundation@live.co.uk
